斯嘉丽与漫威影业达成的协议是保证《黑寡妇》的独家院线发行，她的片酬和院线票房直接挂钩。
然而因为疫情的关系，迪士尼急于收回成本，直接将《黑寡妇》同步流媒体上线。
斯嘉丽认为迪士尼这样的做法，损害了自身的收益，违反了她的合约。
如果爆料属实，斯嘉丽因《黑寡妇》同步上线流媒体的行为损失超过5000万美元。
迪士尼一名发言人针对被斯嘉丽·约翰逊提告发布声明，表示：
“这起诉讼毫无意义，该官司尤其让人悲伤、难过，因为这是冷酷地无视了新冠疫情造成的可怕、长期的全球性影响。迪士尼已经完全遵守了与约翰逊女士的合约，而且，除了她迄今已经收到的2000万美元，《黑寡妇》通过Disney+的Premier Access发行一事显著加强了她赚取额外利润的能力。”
斯嘉丽首部参演漫威的电影是《钢铁侠2》，当初的片酬仅为40万美元。
到了《复联3、4》，她的片酬涨至400万。
